About Bev...
Bev Fishman, of Minneapolis, MN, uses
acrylic as her primary medium. Using vivid colors to express the beauty of nature,
Fishman's work include contemporary styles, landscapes, florals, and spiritual
themes. By combining mixed media and airbrushing techniques to her abstract
images, Fishman creates unique textures that enhance each work with dimension
and perspective. Her spiritual pieces include themes with prayers and blessings
on an abstract background.
The multi-textured use of acrylics, treated and sculptured papers with assorted
mediums, suggest the many layers of fullness and joy in our lives. The metallic
element reflects the natural minerals of earth and intense colors are used with
which to fill our lives. The movement of lines indicate that life is an ever-changing
constant. Positive thoughts, spirituality and the natural wonder of our world
are the force behind her art.
An award-winning artist, she has painted for 25 years, displaying her artwork
at several art shows and exhibits throughout the Midwest, in addition to producing
commissioned pieces. Fishman also makes her art accessible in many formats,
including prints, note cards, mosaic tile art and tile murals.
Fishman’s quote on art: “I love it when a painting grabs your
attention as though it is talking to you and makes you feel something. Feeling
a connection to a visual, pulling you toward it with dreams, wonderment and
questions… That is what art is meant to be.”
